Becoming A Judge in Maryland
Becoming a judge is an arduous process. Attorneys apply for vacancies. They are interviewed and vetted by a Judicial Nominating Committee. The Committee makes recommendations to the Governor’s office. The candidates go through a rigorous evaluation process to determine whether they are qualified and suited to serve the citizens.
Judge John Kuchno was appointed to the bench by the Governor after going through the difficult evaluation. When a judge is appointed to the bench they must then stand for election to remain as a Judge.
This means Judge Kuchno will appear on both primary ballots in June of 2020. Judges run as nonpartisan candidates.
Judge Kuchno asks for your support because he has the integrity, fairness and the experience to continue serving as a Howard County Circuit Court Judge.
